학과 교육목표
- 2개국어 이상의 외국어 해득능력을 기름으로써 학문연구의 기본요건을 갖추도록 한다.

학과 소개
본 경찰법학과 대학원은 학부에서 습득한 법학지식의 심화 확대를 원하는 학생들을 위해 석사 및 박사의 두 개 과정을 개설하고 있다. 이들 과정은 학생들이 독자적인 연구를 수행할 수 있는 능력을 기르는데 도움을 주고 특수한 분야의 전문적이고 실용적인 정보를 제공한다. 이들 과정은 상당히 이수하기가 어렵지만 그럼에도 불구하고 학생들에게는 매우 유용한 기회가 될 것이다. 법학과의 과정은 헌법, 행정법, 형사법, 국제법 영역을 포함하는 공법 전공과 기초법, 민사법, 상사법, 사회법 영역을 포함하는 사법 전공으로 나누어진다.
Department of Law offers two advanced degrees for the students who want to deepen and broaden their learning: A Master of Laws (LL. M.) and a Doctor of Juridical Science(J. S. D.).These courses are designed to help students to conduct independent research and to provide them with professional and practical information in special areas. While graduate courses are very rigorous, most students also find them productive. Graduate course consists of eight subject field: Basic Law Studies, Constitutional Law, Administrative Law, International Law, Civil Law, Commercial Law, Criminal Law and Social Law.

학과 내규
- 제1조(총칙) 경찰법학과의 석박사과정에 입학하고자 하는 자는 이 내규가 정하는 서류심사와 시험에 합격하여야 한다.
- 제2조(시험과목과 배점기준) 각 학위과정의 시험과목은 전공구술과 면접시험으로 한다. 합격에 필요한 점수는 다음과 같다.
1. 전공구술시험 및 서류심사
가.석사학위과정 : 서류심사 20점, 전공구술·면접 80점으로 100점 만점에 평균 60점 이상
나.바사학위과정 : 서류심사 20점, 전공구술·면접 80점으로 100점 만점에 평균 70점 이상
2. 면접은 점수로 환산하지 않고 가·부로 판정하며, 부는 불합격으로 한다. - 제3조(전공학점) ① 석사과정 학생은 본 학과에서 개설하는 과목으로 24학점 이상을 취득해야 하며, 주임교수의 승인을 얻어 타학과에서 개설하는 과목의 학점을 추가로 취득할 수 있다.
② 박사과정 학생은 본 학과에서 개설하는 과목으로 석사학위과정에서 취득한 학점(본 대학원 석사학위 취득자인 경우 최고 30학점까지 인정)을 포함하여 60학점 이상을 취득해야 하며, 주임교수의 승인을 얻어 타학과에서 개설하는 과목의 학점을 추가로 취득할 수 있다. 단, 타전공출신 박사과정 학생이 석사학위과정에서 취득한 학점은 학과 교수회의에서 인정한 경우에 한하여 전공에 포함한다. - 제4조(연구학점)
① 석사과정 학생은 석사논문지도 Ⅰ,Ⅱ 를 모두 이수해야 하며, 성적 평가는 S(합격), U(불합격)로 한다.
② 박사과정 학생은 박사논문연구 I, II, Ⅲ를 모두 이수해야 하며, 성적평가는 S(합격), U(불합격)로 한다. - 제5조(선수과목의 이수 등)
① 타 전공출신 석박사과정 학생은 학부에서 다음의 선수과목 9학점을 이수하여야 한다. 단, 학과주임교수가 하위학부에서 아래 과목의 전부 또는 일부를 이수하였다고 인정하는 경우에는 당해 과목의 이수를 면제할 수 있다.J5101 헌법(I) 3학점J5103 민법총칙(1) 3학점J5201 형법총론(1) 3학점
② 타전공출신 박사과정 학생은 전항의 선수과목 이외에 학부 법학과에서 개설하는 전공과목 중 1과목(3학점)을 선택하여 이수하여야 한다. 단, 학과 주임교수의 판단으로 이를 면제할 수 있다.
③ 선수과목의 이수학점은 석사 또는 박사 학위 취득에 필요한 학점에 포함하지 아니한다.
④ 타전공출신 박사과정 학생은 제1항과 제2항에 정한 선수과목을 이수한 후 법학에 관한 논문을 학과 교수회의의 심사를 거쳐 공개 발표하여야 한다.⑤ 제4항의 논문 발표는 입학 후 4학기 이내에 하여야 한다. - 제6조(종합시험)
① 석·박사종합시험의 일반전공과목은 헌법, 행정법, 민사법, 형사법, 상사법, 국제법, 사회법, 기초법의 8개 과목으로 한다.
② 석사종합시험 응시자는 제1항의 과목 중 2과목을 선택해서 응시하여야 한다.
③ 박사종합시험 응시자는 제1항의 과목 중 2과목을 선택해서 응시하여야 한다. - 제 7조(논문계획발표)논문계획 발표는 교내교수로 구성된 심사위원 앞에서 공개적으로 실시하고 심사결과를 대학원에 보고한다.
